Caldwell County FBLA Students Assist with Child Shoebox Drop Off
Description
Some members of the Caldwell County High School FBLA Chapter showed up Monday morning at the Princeton First Baptist Church Christian Life Center to volunteer to help with the setup for the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drop Off.
Service hours are a part of being a member of the Future Business Leaders of America and can be obtained by assisting public and non-profit groups in activities throughout the year. Monday was the first day of the drop-off week, and the members helped set up tables, bring cartons into the building to use to place the individual shoeboxes, and assemble the cartons for use as the boxes arrived from the different churches. They also helped in other projects to help during the week while learning more about the shoebox ministry and the process of sending the boxes to children who receive them.

The shoebox ministry also wants to thank the Caldwell County Jail Worker Program, who arrived later in the day to load the large cartons of shoeboxes onto the semi-trailers sitting in the church parking lot. They will also be returning next Monday to finish loading all the cartons, which last year totaled nearly 19,000 individual shoeboxes. Monday showed over 3,000 shoeboxes arriving at the church for processing.
