As we head into our 2022-2023 school year, children across the world are weighted by everything from fear of monkey pox, COVID, school shootings, bullying, homelessness, food insecurities, no money for haircut or school shoes, and so much more. They are living in impoverished conditions regardless to what parents may portray on social media. On the other hand, we are in a mass teacher shortage and crisis in our educational system. The same fears and conditions plague many of our educators. We must choose hope, peace, and love by all means necessary. Teach, support, care, open your eyes, make connections, get involved, invest in our future, and look from the lens of our most precious resource; the child.
