Description
To save our forests we need to manage them or they are going to burn to
the ground! That was the main thing I learned in this interview. In
order to restore our forest we need to selectively log, thin and
"prescribed" burn them. No logging is without its challenges.
Mendocino and Humboldt Redwood Company are in the top tier of
sustainable practices in the world as far as lumber companies go. They
are not perfect but are on the right path. In this interview with John
Anderson, the Forest Policy Director of Mendocino Redwood company we
dive deep into the boots on the ground issues around harvesting wood out
of California forests in particular and global forest issues.
