This entire concept is played out between Yeshua and the rich, young ruler. The young man mentally recognized that Yeshua was from God. He knew that He had the answers. But He was unwilling to part with things he held more dear to Him than a servant relationship to the King of kings. This happens often when people say the "sinner's prayer" asking for forgiveness, but not recognizing how much they must relinquish to follow Yeshua. Salvation is free, but I comes at a cost.
