- Pope Leo XIV has appointed Archbishop-designate Josef Grünwidl as the next archbishop of Vienna, a priest known for his pastoral approach who recently voiced support for deeper dialogue on the role of women and giving bishops the option of ordaining married men to the priesthood.
- Lebanon is preparing with great anticipation for Pope Leo XIV's first apostolic visit abroad, where he will come to their country as a pilgrim of peace.
