Celero Communications, a new US startup, has secured $140M to develop a groundbreaking computer chip. This chip aims to enhance AI data center connectivity over long distances by converting light signals from fiber-optic cables into electrical signals. The companys founders, Nariman Yousefi and Oscar Agazzi, previously worked at Marvell Technology. Celero plans to use new algorithms to process light signals faster and with less power. The funding round was led by CapitalG, Alphabets growth fund, with additional support from Sutter Hill Ventures and other investment firms.
