For the few who choose to detach from this expectation to make their own way, it requires a high level of determination, mental agility, and tenacity most humans don't possess. Add in a [non]traditional spiritual practice for extra support and you're liable to raise countless eyebrows in doubt. It just so happens, all of this describes some people I know.
