We had the pleasure of talking to Amanda Sammann, the Assistant Professor in Residence at the UCSF Department of Surgery and the Founder and Executive Director of Better Lab. The Better Lab is a multidisciplinary research lab that combines human centered design and traditional research methods. She majored in Human biology at Stanford and then eventually got her masters in Public Health. During this interview you will learn about the different internships she had, the emotional impact of trauma care, and what Amanda does on a day to day basis at the Zuckerberg SF General Hospital and Trauma center.
