In 1983, Christine won the gold in the Southeast Asian Games, and in the next year, she participated in the Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Unlike many Filipino athletes who often trained in the United States, Christine trained wholly in the Philippines. After retiring from competition, she entered movies and television.
