Description

Anyone visiting Clare's coastline over the festive period is being urged not to to enter the county's waters after consuming alcohol.

The RNLI is reminding people that they will be on call over Christmas to assist anyone who gets into danger and advises people to 'Float to Live' should they find themselves in trouble.

Stats from the charity indicate more than half those who have died by drowning did not intend to enter the water.

Kilrush RNLI Helm and Lifeboat Press Officer Charlie Glynn, says it's crucial to carry a means of calling for help if entering the water for a dip over Christmas.
