Classic Radio 10-17-25 - House without a lot, Lums Broke Leg, and who dented the fender
Update: 2025-10-17
Description
Comedy on a Friday
First, a look at the events of the day.
Then, Amos ‘n’ Andy, originally broadcast October 17, 1948, 77 years ago, House Without a Lot. The Kingfish sells Andy a fine house for only $500, but as usual, there's a catch.
Followed by Lum and Abner, originally broadcast October 17, 1948, 77 years ago, Lum fakes a Broken Leg. Lum has "broken" his leg to avoid Miss Abernathy, which leads to Squire Skimp's Hindu Healer and an insurance doctor who doesn't get the joke.
Then, The Aldrich Family starring Ezra Stone, originally broadcast October 17, 1939, 86 years ago, Barbara and Constance. A poignant story about Henry and two girls, Barbara and Constance. Which one will it be?
Followed by the Burns and Allen Show, originally broadcast October 17, 1944, 81 years ago, George Thinks He Dented The Car Fender. George says "no" to a new hat for Gracie, which leads naturally to a bent fender on the car!
Finally, Claudia, originally broadcast October 17, 1947, 78 years ago, Dinner Plans. Claudia makes plans for dinner. Kathryn Bard and Paul Crabtree star.
