The Cleveland Guardians have bolstered their bullpen for the 2026 season by signing right-handed reliever Connor Brogdon to a one-year Major League contract worth $900,000. Brogdon, 30, spent last season with the Los Angeles Angels, where he struck out 49 batters in 43 appearances despite a 5.55 ERA. He previously played for the Philadelphia Phillies from 2020-2024, posting a 3.51 ERA, and had a brief stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2024 before being released due to injury. The signing aims to fill the void left by closer Emmanuel Clase and other departed relievers, as Brogdon is expected to provide extra depth and contribute to the teams strong bullpen, which finished third in the majors last year with a 3.44 ERA.
