Description

Stephen Udachinojo Omatule is a dedicated climate advocate and activist from Nigeria, with a deep commitment to driving environmental justice and sustainable development. His journey began in his flood-affected village, where firsthand exposure to the impacts of climate change ignited his passion. As the Executive Director of Sir-Steve Humanitarian Initiative and the National Coordinator for Open Dialogue Climate Change Nigeria, Stephen has spearheaded various climate projects, including the "Ibaji LGA Wetlands Restoration Project", which has benefited over 3,000 local residents by improving flood resilience and enhancing biodiversity.

Stephen’s work is backed by global recognition. As a member of the FXB Climate Actors of Harvard University USA and one of the few Africans selected from over 1,500 applicants to lead the "Wetlands Restoration Project", his contributions extend internationally. His leadership as the *Chairman of the Climate Actors Acceleration Program Electoral Committee for UN SDSN Nigeria showcases his active involvement at both national and global levels.

With his data-driven approach, Stephen has increased climate awareness by 60% in the communities he works with and successfully engaged over 500 youths and women in climate leadership programs. His relentless pursuit of climate justice continues to inspire others across Nigeria and beyond.
