Currently, users can only trade crypto for other crypto, but the company plans to introduce a way for users to deposit regular money and buy crypto by 2026. This comes after Coinbases initial launch in 2022, which was followed by a complete pullout in 2023 due to regulatory challenges. The company has since worked with Indias Financial Intelligence Unit and successfully registered, leading to a soft launch and now a full reopening of the app. Despite the challenges, Coinbase hopes the government will ease tax rules to make digital assets more appealing to users.
