The annual Holocaust remembrance of the Romanian Jewish community in Israel (AMIR) held at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem earlier this month centered on the tragedy of Romanian Jews deported to Transnistria during the Second World War. Ahead of the September 17 event, Romania's ambassador to Israel, Dr. Radu Ioanid, a Holocaust scholar formerly with the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, spoke with KAN reporter Naomi Segal.
