Community Consultations completed on Proposed Changes to the Electoral Map for the Municipality of the County of Antigonish
Description
The Municipality of the County of Antigonish wrapped up its community consultations regarding proposed changes to its electoral district map.

Antigonish County Warden Nicholas MacInnis said the meetings went well overall, noting there were concerns from people in districts where there is a lot of change.
MacInnis said the plan is to bring a revised electoral boundary map to committee of the whole next week, before returning it to regular council on December 9. After seeing a draft copy of the map, MacInnis said he is happy with how things look.
The last municipal boundary review for the Municipality of the County of Antigonish took place in 2015. Municipalities are required to conduct such boundary reviews every eight years, but it was delayed in Antigonish because of the discussion around consolidation and then again because of the timing surrounding the 2024 municipal elections.
