Cotton futures experienced minor gains, with nearest contracts rising by nine to sixteen points. Crude oil futures also increased, reaching fifty-eight dollars and eighty-nine cents. The US dollar index edged up slightly. The US cotton harvest is seventy-nine percent complete, slightly behind the usual pace. An online auction sold four thousand three hundred sixty-eight bales at an average price of sixty point seven seven cents per pound. The Cotlook A Index remained unchanged at seventy-four cents. The Adjusted World Price for cotton dropped by one hundred three points to fifty point eight zero cents per pound.
