Could Life Be Better With Less?
Description
Welcome to Simple Joe. I’m glad you’re here.
On today’s episode, I kick things off with the world’s tiniest park—Mill Ends Park in Portland, Oregon, then we check the weekend weather for Falkenstein, Germany (cool, mostly cloudy with light showers possible) and Cincinnati (milder Saturday, colder with snow chances Sunday into Monday). We celebrate birthdays for Bram Stoker, Joe DiMaggio, Bonnie Raitt, Leif Garrett, Gordon Ramsay, Parker Posey, Tara Reid, and Jack Osbourne, look back at Benjamin Franklin’s first American library, Montana’s statehood, Röntgen’s X-ray discovery, and Led Zeppelin’s fourth album. We mark National STEM/STEAM Day, National Parents as Teachers Day, World Pianist Day, and have some fun with Tongue Twister Day (“Six slippery snails slid slowly seaward”). I also share my upcoming Europe trip plans and dig into minimalism, how clearing clutter, dialing back the phone, and choosing experiences over stuff can open space for peace, focus, and better memories. If you’re trying a small step toward simpler living, I’d love to hear about it, and remember, memories are better than stuff.
