American cities across the country, small and large, have faced record breaking years of violence since 2020. Louisville is among the worst of those cities, facing record breaking homicides in the last half decade. But did the violent crime wave also impact rural Kentucky? New analysis from Pegasus Institute shows rural Kentucky saw a early 70% increase in homicides during the same years Louisville and many other big city murders dominated the headlines.
