DDD: Does God See? Has He Forsaken Us?
Description
A Devotion for your drive into work:
When everything seems hidden and God feels distant, is He actually absent—or is He patiently calling for repentance, refusing to leave or forsake His people?
Where might hearts, churches, or nations today echo ancient Israel—hiding sin, excusing idolatry, or giving up hope—thinking God neither sees nor cares?
Drawing from Ezekiel's vision in Babylon, the devotional warns that Israel’s secret sins and idolatry led some to claim “the Lord does not see us; the Lord has forsaken us.” Yet scripture affirms that God sees everything (Hebrews 4:13 , Jeremiah 23:24 ), has not abandoned His people, and the call is always to return, repent, and trust anew. Though God’s mercy has limits if continually rejected, His faithful presence surrounds any who humbly turn back—urging all to choose repentance over idolatry, faith over fear, and bold public witness over apathy in every conflict or temptation
