Description

Justin CrooksOn the corner of Jiashan Lu and Jianguo Xi Lu in the former French concession, you’ll find some of the best coffee in Shanghai!

The great coffee is the result of the hard work of Justin and Tim Crooks, two brothers from New Zealand who cofounded Fix Espresso in 2014.

Justin’s also a veteran of the Food & Beverage trade in China, having lived there for 9 years. I caught up with Justin on a recent trip back to New Zealand.

Our topics ranged far and wide, but some gems were:

  • Advice for any brand trying to introduce a new product, service or experience into China

  • A key insight: China is not just one market. (I mentioned in the podcast Patrick Chovanec’s “Nine Nations of China”)

  • Justin’s picks of the key F&B sectors that are about to take off in China

And since this is the Digital China podcast, we can’t avoid looking at digital marketing and ecommerce.
