An awful end to an even more awful season…

With franchise QB Tua Tagovailoa in street clothes, (for the 6th time this season) Tyler Huntley and the Dolphins turned the ball over four times, and the defense gave up four TD passes to Aaron Rodgers as the hated New York Jets beat Miami 32-20 in their season finale, a loss that put an end to one of the most disappointing seasons in the Dolphins storied history.

Miami will miss the playoffs for the 1st time in 3 years after starting the season with Super Bowl aspirations. The Denver Broncos crushed the Kansas City Chiefs 38-0, with KC resting 10 key players- including Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and several other starters- to clinch the final AFC postseason berth for the Broncos and eliminate the ‘Phins.

Huntley threw two interceptions (both to Ashtyn Davis) and fumbled three times (losing one) in a disastrous start in a game his team had to win to make the playoffs. Jonnu Smith also fumbled for Miami. He finished 25 of 41 for 227 yards and a touchdown for the Dolphins, 8-9.

Inexplicably, star RB De’Von Achane (121 yds, TD) only got 11 carries and no receptions when he was averaging 11 yards per carry, and had broken off a 61-yarder.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (23-36, 274 yards) threw a season-high four touchdown passes— numbers 500-503 of his storied career— in what could've been his final NFL game. The 41-year-old Rodgers isn’t sure if he wants to play a 21st season next year, or whether the Jets (5-12) want him back.

Rodgers- with TD passes to Tyler Conklin, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Breece Hall- became the 5th QB to throw 500 TD passes, joining Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539) and Brett Favre (508) as the only players with 500 regular-season TD throws.

Adams caught six passes for 88 yards for his fifth straight season with 1,000 yards receiving.

Rodgers’ 4th TD pass of the game- and 503rd of his career- came on a 4-yard pass to Adams, which was the 83rd time the two have connected for a score. That moves them past Miami's Dan Marino and Mark Clayton for the third most by a quarterback-wide receiver combination.

Huntley threw a 4-yard TD pass to Jonnu Smith that cut the Dolphins' deficit to 25-20 with 5:21 left, but Rodgers capped his big day with a 6-yard touchdown toss to Hall with 2:30 remaining.

Rodgers' first pass of the game was deflected by Javon Holland and intercepted by Tyrel Dodson, but the Jets held the Dolphins out of the end zone. Jason Sanders’ 26-yard field goal put Miami up 3-0. Sanders added a 28-yarder at the end of the opening quarter.

The Dolphins turned the ball over in 4 consecutive possessions from the middle of the 2nd quarter to the middle of the 3rd quarter.
