Daily Zohar 4989

Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -4989

#202

Another interpretation: “כְּתַפּוּחַ בַּעֲצֵי הַיַּעַר”, “As an apple tree among the trees of the forest” (Song of Songs 2:3).* This is the Holy One, blessed be He, that is, the right line. “כן דודי”, “So is my beloved,” this is the Holy One, blessed be He, that is, the left line. “בצלו”, “In His shade,” this is the Holy One, blessed be He, that is, the middle line. “חמדתי וישבתי”, “I desired and I sat,” this is on the day the Holy One, blessed be He, was revealed on Mount Sinai and Israel received the Torah, and they said: “נַעֲשֶׂה וְנִשְׁמָע”, “We will do and we will hear” (Exodus 24:7). Then the Shekhinah said: “חמדתי וישבתי”, “I desired and I sat.”

Notes:

The Holy One’s three lines (Chesed, Gevurah, Tiferet) enable the Shekhinah’s dwelling (חָמַדְתִּי וְיָשַׁבְתִּי) at Sinai through Israel’s Torah acceptance (נַעֲשֶׂה וְנִשְׁמָע), completing the union.

#203

“וּפִרְיוֹ מָתוֹק לְחִכִּי”, “And His fruit is sweet to my palate” (Song of Songs 2:3). These are the words of the Torah, as it is written about them: וּמְתוּקִים מִדְּבַשׁ וְנֹפֶת צוּפִים—”And sweeter than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb” (Psalms 19:11 ). Another interpretation: “וּפִרְיוֹ מָתוֹק לְחִכִּי”, “And His fruit is sweet to my palate,” these are the souls of the righteous, which are all the fruit of the deeds of the Holy One, blessed be He, and stand with Him above.

Notes:

The Holy One’s “fruit” (וּפִרְיוֹ מָתוֹק) is the Torah, sweet like honey, and the souls of the righteous, born from the union with the Shekhinah.

#204

All the souls of the world, which are the fruit of the deeds of the Holy One, blessed be He, are all one in the secret of one. That is, above, they are not yet distinguished as male and female, but when they descend to the world, all the souls are in the aspects of male and female, and every soul is male and female joined as one.

Notes:

Above, souls are unified as one, without male-female distinction, but in the world, they manifest as male and female, joined in unity.

#205

Come and see: The yearning of the female for the male produces a soul. And likewise, the desire and yearning of the male for the female, and his cleaving to her, bring forth a soul. And it includes the soul from the yearning of the female and takes it. And the yearning of the lower one, the female, is included in the yearning of the upper one, the male. And the two souls become one will without separation.

Notes:

The mutual yearning of Malchut and Zeir Anpin in their zivug produces souls that unite as one will without separation, reflecting divine unity.
