Daily Zohar 4990

.
Zohar Vayera
Continued from previous DZ
#197
She further opens and says: “אוּלַי יִמָּצְאוּן שָׁם עֲשָׂרָה”, “Perhaps ten will be found there” (Genesis 18:32 ). Perhaps sons will grow up to study Torah, and they will have a reward for the Ten Commandments, twice every day. For Rabbi Yitzchak said: Every one who raises his son to study Torah and brings him to the house of his teacher in the morning and in the evening, the verse considers it as if he fulfilled the Torah twice every day. What is written? “וַיֹּאמֶר לֹא אַשְׁחִית בַּעֲבוּר הָעֲשָׂרָה”, “And He said, I will not destroy for the sake of the ten” (Genesis 18:32 ).
Notes:
This Zohar passage interprets אוּלַי יִמָּצְאוּן שָׁם עֲשָׂרָה and לֹא אַשְׁחִית בַּעֲבוּר הָעֲשָׂרָה (Genesis 18:32 ). The plea for ten righteous in Sodom is linked to raising children for Torah study, fulfilling the Ten Commandments twice daily (morning and evening), emphasizing education as divine sustenance.
Main Point: Ten righteous, through Torah study twice daily (אוּלַי יִמָּצְאוּן), merit Sodom’s salvation (לֹא אַשְׁחִית), sustaining the world through the zivug’s light.
#198
She further opens and says: “אוּלַי יִמָּצְאוּן שָׁם עֲשָׂרָה”, “Perhaps ten will be found there” (Genesis 18:32 ). She says: Master of the world, perhaps they were from those ten first ones of the synagogue, who take reward for all who come after them. What is written? “וַיֹּאמֶר לֹא אַשְׁחִית בַּעֲבוּר הָעֲשָׂרָה”, “And He said, I will not destroy for the sake of the ten” (Genesis 18:32 ).
Notes:
This Zohar passage from Vayera interprets אוּלַי יִמָּצְאוּן שָׁם עֲשָׂרָה and לֹא אַשְׁחִית בַּעֲבוּר הָעֲשָׂרָה (Genesis 18:32 ), continuing #197. The plea for ten in Sodom refers to the first ten in the synagogue minyan, whose merit protects all, reflecting the zivug of Zeir Anpin and Malchut. Their collective prayer sustains the world, paralleling Torah study’s protective power.
Main Point: Ten synagogue leaders (אוּלַי יִמָּצְאוּן) merit Sodom’s salvation (לֹא אַשְׁחִית), protecting all.
