Daily Zohar 4996

Holy Zohar text. Daily Zohar -4996

Zohar Chayei Sarah

Continued from previous DZ

#171

Rabbi Abahu said: Come and see, everyone who knows His name in its truth knows that He and His name are one. He is the Holy One, blessed be He, and His name is one, that is, the Shekhinah. As it is written: “יְהוָה אֶחָד וּשְׁמוֹ אֶחָד”, “YHVH is one and His name is one” (Zechariah 14:9). That is, the name, which is the Shekhinah. And He, which is Zeir Anpin, is one.

Notes:

YHVH (Zeir Anpin) and His name (Shekhinah) are one (יְהוָה אֶחָד וּשְׁמוֹ אֶחָד), reflects the unity that will be for the resurrection.

#172

Rabbi Abba said: One should look at this verse, as it is

written: “וַיַּבְרֵךְ הַגְּמַלִּים מִחוּץ לָעִיר אֶל בְּאֵר הַמַּיִם”, “And he made the camels kneel outside the city by a well of water” (Genesis 24:11 ). Rabbi Abba said: “Outside the city” means in the cemetery. “By a well of water” means, as we have learned, that the first to be resurrected in the cemetery are those who dealt in Torah. For we have learned: When a person enters the grave, what is asked of him at first is whether he set times for Torah, as it is written: “וְהָיָה אֱמוּנַת עִתֶּיךָ”, “And the faithfulness of your times” (Isaiah 33:6). And all the more so when he comes out, there is no question, to revive them first.

Notes:

Torah scholars, who set study times (אֱמוּנַת עִתֶּיךָ), are resurrected first from the cemetery (מִחוּץ לָעִיר), their merit ensuring priority in divine revival.
