Guido Schittone parla con l’autorevolezza di un professionista che ha narrato 50 anni di motorsport, ma allo stesso tempo con l’entusiasmo contagioso di un bambino che lo ha appena conosciuto. Noi di The Pass lo abbiamo incontrato l’anno scorso all’Autodromo Nazionale Monza in occasione dell’ACI Racing Weekend, evento al quale Guido era presente in veste di telecronista di ACI Sport e della Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. Nel corso della nostra Track Talk, Guido ha condiviso una serie di aneddoti e riflessioni sulla passione innata grazie alla quale vive un’eterna giovinezza, svelando ciò che forse non aveva mai detto prima d’ora pubblicamente.

Dopo aver assaporato l’ebrezza delle corse da spettatore già in tenera età, il parmense classe 1955 inizia a raccontarle nel 1975 e negli anni ricopre diversi ruoli nell’ambito della comunicazione, a stretto contatto con i personaggi leggendari del motorsport. Prima inviato speciale e poi direttore responsabile del settimanale Autosprint, così come caporedattore responsabile e telecronista della redazione motori di Mediaset e conduttore televisivo: alla carriera da giornalista affianca anche le sue avventure da pilota, che lo portano a competere con macchine quali Porsche e Ferrari e a provare monoposto quali la Larrousse Formula 1. Dalle lacrime di gioia a Magione mentre esce dai box per la sua prima gara a quelle di dolore a Imola quando deve annunciare la morte di Senna in collegamento con il TG5, passando per una miriade di incontri, esperienze e sfide, sia professionali sia personali, di cui Guido ci ha parlato.

Attualmente impegnato in un’altra stagione da telecronista di ACI Sport e della Porsche Carrera Cup Italia nonché nella scrittura del suo blog dedicato al cinema e alla narrativa, Guido dimostra quanto sia importante guardare sempre avanti con slancio e continuare a sognare, portando con sé gli insegnamenti del passato senza rimanerci ancorati.

Guido Schittone speaks with the authority of a professional who has narrated 50 years of motorsport, yet with the contagious enthusiasm of a child who has just discovered it. We at The Pass met him last year at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza on the occasion of the ACI Racing Weekend, an event that Guido attended as the commentator for ACI Sport and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia. Throughout our Track Talk, Guido shared a series of anecdotes and reflections on the innate passion that keeps him forever young, revealing things that perhaps he had never said publicly before.

After tasting the thrill of racing already as a very young spectator, the native of Parma born in 1955 starts reporting on it in 1975 and, over the years, holds various communication roles, closely connected with motorsport legends. First a special correspondent and then editor-in-chief of the Autosprint weekly magazine, as well as managing editor and commentator for Mediaset’s motoring editorial team and television host: alongside his career in journalism, he also has several adventures as a racing driver, competing with cars such as Porsche and Ferrari and testing single-seaters such as the Larrousse Formula 1. From the tears of joy in Magione as he leaves the pits for his first race to the tears of sorrow in Imola when he has to announce Senna’s death live on TG5, passing through a myriad of encounters, experiences, professional and personal challenges, which Guido told us about.

Currently busy in another season as a commentator for ACI Sport and the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia, while writing for his blog about cinema and narrative, Guido demonstrates how important it is to always look ahead with energy and to keep dreaming, carrying the lessons of the past without getting stuck in it.
