Dancescope ep.5: A must-hear conversation with Nafisah Baba
Description
A lot can be said about Nafisah and yet not enough to describe her artistry, talent and spirit. Nafisah is a classically trained contemporary dancer, starting dance at the Pamela Howard School of Dance before later joining the West London School of Dance. She graduated from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts in 2015 and joined Chrysalis London, where her love for contemporary dance grew. During this time, she also gained a BA Honours degree in Professional Practice at Middlesex University.
In 2017 Nafisah won BBC Young Dancer and since then, has gone on to work with various dance companies and choreographers, as well as performing in the UK, Europe, and Asia. Prior to lockdown Nafisah was performing in Kate Prince’s ‘Message in a Bottle’ with Zoonation and recently she has featured in Sadler’s Wells Global Gala, Beyonce’s new movie ‘Black is King’, Ellie Goulding’s first virtual live-streamed performance, ‘The Brightest Blue Experience’, and was part of ‘Our Bodies Back’ in collaboration with Sadler’s Wells, Jonzi D and Jessica Care Moore. Do not miss this one out!
