Description

Meet Latifa Patel, the youngest ever Deputy Chair of the British Medical Association Representative Body and the first woman of colour to hold the position. In this episode, Latifa talks to hosts Tony and Io about the structural changes needed to make decision-making in the NHS more inclusive and how the Coronavirus pandemic has inadvertently accelerated them. She also talks movingly about how her childhood shaped her approach to disagreement today and how, despite her seniority, she still has to contend with cultural stereotyping by her peers.
