They sold fake drugs on the Dark Web and through the encrypted Telegram app, earning over four million pounds in Bitcoin since 2018. Novikovas, the leader, received a sentence of thirteen and a half years, while Avizienius, his second-in-command, was sentenced to ten and a half years. Sutrinavicius received eight years and three months, and Khan, who supplied the drugs, was given fifteen years. The groups illegal activities posed extreme dangers, as customers had no idea what they were purchasing, and the products were sold without medical consultation or assurance of authenticity. Heroin seized from the group contained traces of fentanyl, a substance fifty times stronger than heroin, which could cause fatal overdoses. The police emphasized that the composition of these counterfeit tablets is unknown, and their effects on vulnerable people could be devastating.
