10/10/25: David French is an Opinion columnist for The New York Times, where he writes about law, culture, religion. He attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, graduated from Harvard Law School, and served as a lecturer at Cornell Law School. David French joined the JAG Corps as an Army lawyer, and volunteered to deploy to Iraq where he served with the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment in Diyala Province during the height of the Surge in 2007 and was awarded a Bronze Star.
