Description

In this edition, we speak to David Lim, a Singaporean mountaineer who led the first Mount Everest Expedition from Singapore. He did not make the summit because of a severe injury but two of his team members successfully did.

A week after his return, he was stricken with Guillain–Barré syndrome, a rare nerve disorder which left him paralyzed from eyes down. He spent six months in hospitals and emerged partially disabled in both legs.

In spite of his disability, he continued to lead 15 expeditions on very challenging mountaineering pursuits. David has authored three books based on lessons he learned as a mountaineer.

David is a professional speaker and has the prestigious CSPGlobal certification. He has spoken in over 75 cities and 30 countries, combining experiences in leadership in the mountains with corporate models.

The Movers and Shakers Leadership Podcast is where we speak with passionate achievers in order to dissect the DNA of his or her success. This podcast is produced in association with The Hindu Businessline newspaper and its campus edition, BL on Campus.

Let's now listen to the conversation with David Lim.
