There is no doubt that members of the cold supply chain have risen to the challenge of keeping world trade in food and medicines flowing in the face of pandemic challenges that have included sea and land border congestion, equipment and shipment displacement, a huge shift to remote working, frontline labour shortages and increased health security requirements and restrictions.
Shipping, trucking, rail, processing, pack houses, ports, terminals, cold stores and other key cold chain nodes and modes have all been affected - in some cases negatively but for others positively, generating new investment and business opportunities.
