When is the last time you set a deadline for yourself? Sounds painful doesn’t it? Well, here’s the beautiful thing— it doesn’t have to be!

A man named C. Northcote Parkinson once claimed that work expands to fill the time for its completion. While it’s human nature to procrastinate, more people could and should use deadlines to their advantage.

On this episode of the Habits2Goals podcast, Martin and I review strategies for accelerating productivity and goal achievement by using deadlines constructively.

If you don’t appreciate how much deadlines can help you— chances are they are hurting you.

Avoid thinking about deadlines in terms of all or nothing, accept that there will be times when you’ll want to and be able to extend your deadlines.

Keys to using deadlines positively include; maintaining perspective, using accountability groups and applying realistic timelines.
