Deceptive Haystacks: A Conversation with Historian Steve Nolt
Description
This week, Abby and Erin meet with historian Steve Nolt, author of many books and articles about the Amish and director of the Elizabethtown College Young Center for Anabaptist and Pietist studies. We chat about Steve's work and research, current projects, interesting questions he's been asked about the Amish, and what the word "haystack" means to him.
Steve has authored, co-authored, and edited many books and articles on the Amish. A few select items from that list include:
- The Amish: A Concise Introduction (2016)
- A History of the Amish (3rd edition, 2016)
- The Emergence of Amish Genetic Studies: A Brief History of Collaboration and Reciprocity (Journal of Plain Anabaptist Communities, 2020)
