The Defend the Atlanta Forest movement began shortly after Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced plans to build a brand new police training facility in southwest DeKalb earlier this year. In this episode, we sit down with May, a leader in the Defend the Atlanta Forest movement. She explains why she'd rather see the city invest in maintaining the Atlanta forest, as opposed to chopping it down to build this new police academy.
