The Doobie Wrapz Duo introduces you to our very own "Music Messenger," Deforrest Brown Jr., b.k.a. Speaker Music. Not only is he is a media theorist, curator, musician, and techno DJ; he is the voice "behind the scenes," reclaiming techno music's origins in the Black musical heritage. His slogan/campaign, "Make Techno Black Again," educates us on how techno (and house) music, were first invented by African Americans, later emerged in Europe, and became whitewashed and financialized. What a great conversation it was - check it out!
