This is the Denali Report for July 11th, 2025

As of this week, there were 962 climbers registered to climb Denali this season.  All 962 people have come and gone, and no climbers remain on the mountain at this time. 24 people were registered to climb Mt. Foraker this year.  No climbers remain on that mountain.

With no climbing teams remaining, National Park Service rangers and volunteers disassembled their various camps last week. The high-altitude helicopter removed gear from the 14,000 foot camp, and air taxis flew out gear that had been stationed at Base Camp.  

Two special volunteers assisted with the final two Park Service Ranger Patrols. Alaska Mountaineering School co-owner, Colby Coombs, joined Rangers Galen Dossin, and Jake Kayes. The patrol marked Coombs’ 41st time on Denali.  Kahiltna Base Camp Manager, Gabby Faurot, left her Base Camp post a few weeks early to travel higher on the mountain with Ranger Chelsea Bomba’s team. Faurot recently completed her fifth season as Base Camp Manager.

The National Park Service has not yet totaled the statistics that calculate the summit rate for the 2025 climbing season. NPS staff has speculated that the rate will roughly pencil out at about 35% this year. Last years’ summit rate was approximately 52%. The official statistics for the 2025 season are expected to be released in August.
