Designing For Good With Creative Director Richard Longmuir
Description
Today I am joined by awesome Richard Longmuir! Asides from being the Creative Director at Launch Digital, Richard is an incredible human being who does a tremendous amount to support the design community and local businesses in Scotland.
From lecturing and mentoring design students at Glasgow Caledonian University to being appointed a board Director at the Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce, it’s safe to say that Richard truly is a bloody legend.
In this episode myself and Richard discuss the massive topic that is designing for good. From tackling child hunger with Launch Foods to finding fulfilment in wearing pink tartan kilts, Richard's anecdotes highlight the influence of design beyond aesthetics. We share opinions from our listeners, get honest about the moral dilemmas designers face and discuss the undeniable impact of thoughtful design on social causes.
As always we round off our conversation with movie and pie of the week, where we have the podcasts very first live pie tasting!! All thanks to Richard and the abundance of pies he brought with him to record. You might hear me munching away but you definitely won't hear me complaining. 😂
So, tune in and prepare to be inspired by Richard Longmuir's journey and his infectious passion for doing good.
