Tabice Ward ’21 is the director of Information Protection and Security at DTE Energy and was recently awarded the Richard H. L. Marshall Award for Graduate Excellence in Information Assurance at the College of Liberal Arts & Education Honors Convocation. She also happens to be today’s guest on the Detroit Mercy’s 313 Cybersecurity Podcast.
About Tabice Ward
Tabice Ward ‘21 was born and raised in Detroit and earned her Master of Science in Information Assurance from University of Detroit Mercy. Ward has also earned several professional certifications in IT and cybersecurity. She is currently employed at DTE as the director of Information Protection & Security for the company’s enterprise cybersecurity program. She is actively involved in the cybersecurity field with resource groups and committees promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Ward spends countless hours volunteering on several advisory boards to advance technology and cybersecurity in post-secondary and K-12 education. She is currently on the advisory board for Detroit Mercy’s Center for Cyber Security and Intelligence Studies, Wayne State University’s Department of Computer Science and Henry Ford’s Early College Program. She volunteers in the community and supports programs such as the U.S. CyberPatriot educational program for middle and high school students.
She is married with three children and continues to work, live and play in the city of Detroit. She is seen as a passionate and influential leader among her peers and considers herself a Detroiter for life.
