On the latest episode of Patriots Daily, CLNS Media’s Taylor Kyles and SI’s Mike Kadlick break down an encouraging performance from rookie quarterback Drake Maye during Monday’s open OTA — his third in front of media.
After a slower start that included a throwaway and a coverage sack, Maye settled into rhythm with nine straight completions across three periods. Highlights included a sail route to Kayshon Boutte, a dig to Efton Chism III against Christian Gonzalez, a side-arm throw to DeMario Douglas, and a well-placed wheel route to Rhamondre Stevenson on the move.
The session ended with Jaylinn Hawkins breaking up an out-route to Kyle Williams, but Maye’s poise and progression stood out.
As Taylor Kyles noted:
“Easily his best day that we’ve seen this year and I think it might have been one of the best practice efforts that we’ve seen from him.”
