Dopesick: how we've all been sucked in to the opiate crisis.
Description
This week Nik is joined by Dr Caroline Greene who is a GP by background and lives in Cambridge. She's always had an interest in medical education, and has worked as a programme director supporting GP trainees. Now she spends most of her time working for Red Whale, developing their product and supporting their clinical team.
They discuss the opiate crisis, how it originated across the pond and how it has impacted on the way we manage patients with chronic pain. They also talk about misbranding, misrepresenting data, and the destruction of relationships, careers, families and entire communities.
Red Whale have kindly given us some of their chronic pain resources to share with you.
There's also the usual look at the news headlines and in our new feature we see what's on our radar at the moment.
