She recently completed her doctorate in theatre and performance at Monash University in Melbourne, focusing her research on a group of adult adoptees working as a performing ensemble—that is, actors telling their own stories. In 2022, the culmination of Alison’s research
premiered as Infans, VOIC’D: A History Play in Five Acts at Monash University’s Clayton campus, presented as both an audio play and a live theatre event. In this episode, Alison discusses her motivations, research and what she's working on now.

Queensland
We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and the many lands that our clients now live on and we wish to acknowledge and show our respects to Elders past and present for their continuing connection to
culture and the contributions they make to community. We acknowledge how much we have to learn from them and their unique understanding of connection and adoption and their recognition that at the base of every change is truth
telling and healing.
