Description

In this podcast, expert clinicians will discuss multidisciplinary care approaches to consider in tardive dyskinesia (TD). TD is a neurological disorder characterized by persistent involuntary movements that can be debilitating. It is commonly associated with exposure to dopamine receptor antagonists, including both typical and atypical antipsychotics. TD is associated with a high health care burden, but outcomes can be optimized through coordinated care efforts. Recently, the US Food and Drug Administration approved new treatments for patients with TD. Most providers are unfamiliar with these novel therapies and the discrepancies in their use. The other episodes in this series will cover the symptoms, pathology, causes, and burden of TD, as well as available therapies.
