Drea Castro: Empowering and Amplifying the Underrepresented

We are delighted to have Drea Castro, a Filipino-American filmmaker, director, and passionate advocate for underrepresented and BIPOC stories. As the VP of Career and Creative Development at FilAm Creative, Drea plays a pivotal role in shaping programming to educate and empower young Filipino and Southeast Asian creatives. She is a 2022 mentee of WIF and WWF Cohort, as well as a recipient of the Woman of Her Word grant.
Drea Castro's passion extends beyond the screen, as she has also produced and directed the magical short film "Bless," starring Arianna Basco and Darius Basco. Her upcoming projects include the TV series "The Jungle," which explores the Filipino American diaspora, the docu-series "Browned" focusing on chefs of color, and the coming-of-age feature film "Black Hat," directed by Robbie Bryan.
