Tragedy struck Statesville Regional Airport, claiming the lives of seven, including father and son, Dennis and Jack Dutton. Dennis, a retired Air Force Reserves pilot and Delta Airlines captain, was remembered for his kindness and leadership. Jack, a twenty-year-old aviation student, was following in his fathers footsteps and had just earned his certification to fly. Both were deeply loved and their loss is deeply felt across their communities.
