Many people struggle with what they call 'sex addiction' such as watching a lot of porn or having lots of sex outside of a relationship. Silva Neves challenges the idea of addiction in relation to sexual behaviours. He says that disorders of sexual compulsivity are quite rare, and that people who think they are 'sex addicts' often have only a couple of traits of sexual compulsive disorder.
