EP: 808 - 20 mins after having the most satisfying bowl of brown rice quinoa pasta with some beef & broccoli for lunch, I wanted something sweet
Description
20 mins after having the most satisfying bowl of brown rice quinoa pasta with some beef & broccoli for lunch, I wanted something sweet .
But it wasn’t just anything sweet. It was something very SPECIFIC. Aka a rice cake with with almond butter, melted dark chocolate & chopped up apple with a slice of sourdough bread with the same toppings
I KNEW it was a craving because it was extremely specific.
I don’t have urges anymore but those are when you FEEL impulsive and you can’t really pin point what you specifically want to eat because you’re not really craving food, you’re craving the feeling that food gives you.
I didn’t spend time overthinking if I should have this snack or not, I just did.
I didn’t think to myself gosh you just ate lunch 20 mins ago you shouldn’t be hungry or need more food, I trusted.
I didn’t overthink okay well you just had carbs for lunch, maybe you should have something else higher in protein, I ate EXACTLY what I was craving.
I didn’t think ahh that’s too much chocolate, I added however much I wanted & it was so damn good.
I didn’t look in my fridge & see all the delicious whole foods that were freshly cooked yesterday & shame myself for wanting something else.
You don’t need to be hungry to enjoy something sweet AND… you can eat whatever you’re craving without losing control or feeling bad about it.
20 mins after a meal you want something sweet? Great. There’s nothing wrong with that except for the fact that you judge yourself and try to push it off.
When you leave your meals feeling comfortably full and satisfied, enjoying something sweet doesn’t push you off the edge and send you into a session of overeating.
You’re satisfied which means you can move on with your day without thinking about the chocolate you were craving & end up overdoing it later on.
I trust my body, I listen to it, I honour it.
My meals are satisfying AND I love something sweet.
My snacks are exactly what I’m craving AND I thoroughly enjoy it all.
I eliminated my urges because I got really good at NOT giving into my urges & only honouring my cravings when they pop up.
Cravings are normal & healthy! It’s a beautiful sign from you body. Trust it, listen to it, honour it and you’ll leave your meals comfortably full & satisfied not stuffed
Inside this episode, I share how honouring your cravings gets to be super simple!
