Description
This week we interviewed Bernice Jenko (he/they) He is a trans genderfluid community organizer, lead artist, activist, fashion enthusiast and representative of the light. He currently have 4 years of experience working for our Tucson gente as a community organizer. The art and work that he does intersects with his spirituality, the liberation of our people and the collective mind is the main goal.
Organizing community events to bring our people together to provide a space where we practice mutual aid, educate and uplift each other is one of theor many passions. He started tabling for other organizations like LUCHA(Living United for Change in Arizona) and started as a volunteer getting people registered to vote, became a community organizer and expanded into co-creating FEEL(Fighting for Equal and Essential Liberation).
He spent the past 2 years growing and making connections with the FEEL art collective and now he is currently part of the Splinter collective a space which has been designed with the LGBTQIA+ community in mind. He got the opportunity to come on board to become part of the Brain Trust, that is composed of the folks doing most of the on the ground work and visioning. While simultaneously embarking on a journey as a temporary Eviction Defense Organizer.
