In this episode we will focus on how to make the best out of bad situations. So much of life is made up of
circumstances and events that are other than what we might have chosen or prefer. What should we do?
Three Steps:
1. Focus Your Attention on Others
In bad situations we tend to become inward focused (“poor me”)
- Matthew 22:34-40
- Philippians 2:3
- 1 Corinthians 10:24
Keep your focus where it should be, especially in bad situations
2. Look for Opportunities for Growth and Service
Growth and development mean change and change makes us uncomfortable
Discomfort is necessary to spiritual growth
- James 1:2-4
- Romans 5:3-4
3. Look for God at Work
Bad situations in our lives do not mean God is not there
God often works through them to accomplish His will
- Romans 8:28
- Acts 8:1-4
- Philippians 1:12-18
God does work and He uses bad situations; in our bad situations we can anticipate the working of God
