Description

Nicole Maloba and Rachel Kagoiya lead us in a discussion on the economic impacts of COVID-19 in the lives of women, across different sectors. Women’s economic and productive lives have been affected by disproportionately and differently from men. Across the globe, women are the majority (between 60 to 70 percent) working in the informal sector, which is characterized by low pays, no job security, less access to social protection, limited health services, and worse women are more prone to violence and harassment in the workplace. In building better and forward, every COVID-19 recovery plan must include the leadership and voices of women in the decision-making.
